The number of tests and the format in which they are saved can vary from one meter to the next. Also, how long does it take for the meter to show results? Some meters can show results in as little as five seconds, while others can take as long as 45 seconds.
Another important question is how much blood is required for an accurate test. This is another area that can vary significantly. Some glucometers require as little as 0.3 micro-liters but others require almost 10 times that amount. Also, it is important to note where the test can be done. While the most accurate place is finger testing, many glucometers can work with alternative site testing.
